Our Team

Sarah A. Greatrix, B.A. (Hons) LL.B

PRINCIPAL LAWYER

"Achieving a superior outcome for my clients is my primary objective."

My legal practice is focused on my passions: Family/Divorce Law, Wills/Estate Law and Mediation. I take ‘a hands-on’ approach and pride myself in working with clients to achieve practical and expeditious resolutions.

I am experienced, knowledgeable, and communicative. I work tirelessly to ensure my clients’ needs are met by including them in every step of the decision-making process.

My initial approach is to attempt to resolve matters through Collaborative family law, negotiations, settlement meetings and/or mediation/arbitration; however, I do not hesitate to proceed to Court when necessary. I am a strong advocate for my clients and I have successfully argued motions and participated in trials at both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. I have a special interest in the negotiation and preparation of complex Cohabitation Agreements and Marriage Contracts (pre-nups).

Academic History & Approach to Practice

I grew up in Eastern Ontario and then relocated to K-W to attend the University of Waterloo where I received an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a specialization in Sexuality, Marriage and Family Issues. I obtained my Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Windsor in 2007 where I was the recipient of several academic awards, including the Joseph Micallef Memorial Award (highest class standing in Family Law) and the Scotiabank Award (highest class standing in Wills and Succession Law).

We are dedicated to understanding our clients’ needs and to advocating effectively on their behalf. We will work with our clients to help them understand the law and feel empowered by the choices they make during what could be described as the most difficult time of their lives.

Ebrar Nizami, B.A., LL.B. (Hons)

Associate Lawyer

After earning his LL.B with Honours, Ebrar immersed himself in practical legal training across a spectrum of law disciplines, encompassing family, criminal, and civil litigation.

Before returning to his hometown of Guelph to join Greatrix Law, Ebrar honed his skills at a distinguished boutique family law firm in Toronto. There, he tackled intricate matters involving the division of property, support, parenting time, and decision-making responsibilities, gaining invaluable experience in handling highly contentious cases.

Ebrar approaches each client and case with a deep understanding of their unique circumstances. Recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to achieving favorable outcomes, he advocates for alternative dispute resolution methods tailored to individual needs.

Known for his personable yet straightforward demeanor, Ebrar navigates clients through legal complexities with empathy while providing clear guidance on their options, empowering them to make informed decisions and plan for their future.

Outside the courtroom, Ebrar finds joy in playing pick-up basketball and volleyball, spending time with his family, and traveling.
