Sarah A. Greatrix, B.A. (Hons) LL.B
PRINCIPAL LAWYER

My legal practice is focused on my passions: Family/Divorce Law, Wills/Estate Law and Mediation. I take ‘a hands-on’ approach and pride myself in working with clients to achieve practical and expeditious resolutions.
I am experienced, knowledgeable, and communicative. I work tirelessly to ensure my clients’ needs are met by including them in every step of the decision-making process.
My initial approach is to attempt to resolve matters through Collaborative family law, negotiations, settlement meetings and/or mediation/arbitration; however, I do not hesitate to proceed to Court when necessary. I am a strong advocate for my clients and I have successfully argued motions and participated in trials at both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. I have a special interest in the negotiation and preparation of complex Cohabitation Agreements and Marriage Contracts (pre-nups).
Academic History & Approach to Practice
I grew up in Eastern Ontario and then relocated to K-W to attend the University of Waterloo where I received an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a specialization in Sexuality, Marriage and Family Issues. I obtained my Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Windsor in 2007 where I was the recipient of several academic awards, including the Joseph Micallef Memorial Award (highest class standing in Family Law) and the Scotiabank Award (highest class standing in Wills and Succession Law).
We are dedicated to understanding our clients’ needs and to advocating effectively on their behalf. We will work with our clients to help them understand the law and feel empowered by the choices they make during what could be described as the most difficult time of their lives.
Beatriz Bedin, LL.B., LL.M.
Associate Lawyer
Beatriz Bedin is a Brazilian-born family lawyer, committed to helping clients resolve family matters with empathy, clarity, and culturally informed guidance.
She brings over nine years of legal experience across two countries, including work at Brazil’s Public Defender’s Office and at a multi-practice law firm in Ontario. Beatriz holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Brazil, and a Professional Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Canadian Common Law from Osgoode Hall Law School. She also completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Rights, Social Responsibility and Global Citizenship and a Professional Certification in Neuroscience (Brazil). Her approach is calm, practical, and deeply informed by training in conflict resolution, human rights, and human behaviour.
Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, Beatriz bridges cultural and linguistic gaps in her work, ensuring every client feels seen and understood.
She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Waterloo Region Law Association, and the Brazil-Canada Bar Association. She also volunteers with the Child Witness Centre and supports disability rights initiatives in Brazil.
Outside the office, she enjoys photography, spending time with her family, and caring for her bulldogs, Milka and Bilbo.
Vanessa Wotten
Associate Lawyer
Vanessa is a compassionate listener and strategic family lawyer, committed to providing a client-centered approach to her practice. She supports individuals and families through a range of family law matters, including divorce, parenting arrangements, child and spousal support, and separation agreements. She works closely with clients to find solutions tailored to their specific circumstances- whether through negotiation, mediation, or litigation when necessary.
Raised in Peterborough, Vanessa graduated from Trent University, with a B.A. in Political Studies with an emphasis in public policy, in 2020. Vanessa completed her J.D. at Windsor Law school in 2024, after which she completed her articles with mid-size firm in Waterloo.
Outside of the office, Vanessa enjoys reading, skiing, baking, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Terresa Janssen
Senior Law Clerk
With over twenty years of dedicated experience in family law, Terresa serves as our firm's seasoned senior law clerk, bringing extensive expertise and insight to our team. She possesses in-depth knowledge of various family law matters, including divorce proceedings, child custody arrangements, and property division issues.
Terresa will be your first point of contact! She is known for her friendly, responsive, and supportive approach.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Terresa embraces the role of a supportive dance mom to her talented competitive dancer daughter. In her leisure time, she cherishes moments with her family, and enjoys exploring new destinations in warmer climates.
